Our experience equally covers both the public and private sectors. In the public sector, the need for translation services is defined by the Constitution of Georgia. The Constitution obliges the state to ensure the right of individuals who do not know the state language to benefit from the institution of an interpreter. Article 53 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Georgia provides a detailed description of the circumstances that make the participation of an interpreter a necessary prerequisite in the consideration of a criminal case. According to this article, the decision to summon an interpreter is issued by the investigator or prosecutor, while the court issues a ruling. It should be noted that no other participant in the process is entitled to perform the duties of an interpreter; translation activities must be carried out exclusively by an interpreter.
On the other hand, the expansion of activities into the international arena, both in the public and private sectors, requires professional oral interpreting services, which constitute one of the essential conditions for integration into the global world.
